Egypt captain Mohamed Salah has shared a lighthearted moment from the national team’s training camp as the Pharaohs continue their bid to reach the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Liverpool forward posted an image on his official X account showing at least nine players gathered in a single room watching a small television. Salah captioned the post “Cultural Film,” in reference to a well-known Egyptian movie released around 25 years ago that featured a similar scene and became a cult classic.
The photo included several of Egypt’s key players, among them Salah, Manchester City striker Omar Marmoush, Mostafa Mohamed, goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy, Mostafa Shobeir, and Mohamed Hany. All were seen smiling, reflecting the positive atmosphere within the squad.
Egypt strengthened their qualification campaign last Friday with a 2–0 victory over Ethiopia in Addis Ababa. Both goals came from the penalty spot, converted by Salah and Marmoush.
The Pharaohs face Burkina Faso on Tuesday in a decisive encounter. A win would secure early qualification for the 2026 World Cup, while a draw or defeat would postpone confirmation until the final two rounds of African qualifiers next month.
